Senator Mike Johanns today sent a letter to U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder requesting an investigation of the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN). Senator Johanns made the following statement:
"It's time for the Administration to do its part in confronting an organization whose employees have been convicted of voter fraud and is now shrouded in more controversy. Videos continue to surface that reportedly feature ACORN employees giving advice on tax evasion, human trafficking and prostitution in at least four cities across the country. These videos show an alarming culture of corruption, not isolated events.
"Our President has been very proactive on a number of fronts, including the takeover of private companies, and I hope he will be forceful on this issue. The administration owes it to the American people to conduct a thorough investigation, especially when tens of millions of tax dollars have been given to ACORN."
